Clara is an elegant vintage diamond engagement ring. Crafted in precious platinum with a tapered inline design.
The ring mounting is a classic design seen in the 1920s - 1940s. We love the triagular-ish shaped tapered diamond sides with the intricate milgrain detail on the edges of the metal. Just perfect!
The center diamond is a transitional cut (measuring 4.77 - 4.78 x 2.79mm, estimated weight .42ctw). These came after the Old European cut diamonds, generally in the 1950s. So the original center diamond could have been damaged and then replaced with this diamond. Or possibly, the ring mounting sat in the jewelers safe for 10-15 years, and then was set with a current round diamond. No way to tell at this point. But she's a beauty!
