Vintage Platinum and Diamond Engagement Ring - 2.14ct Old Mine Cut Diamond
Why Talking Is a Good Idea
Buying jewelry online is intimidating. We should know. We've been selling online for 17 years.
We've taken a totally different approach. A personal one.
Remember how experiences used to be intimate? Jewelry buying should be an intimate experience.
It isn't about having the largest selection, or selling the cheapest (i.e. low quality) jewelry. We’re not aiming to be the Amazon of jewelry. We are a family-owned jewelry store in Modesto (California) that is very picky about quality and design. That's been our calling card since 1989.
Beautiful jewelry should stir the soul. Before selecting a piece for display we ask, “How does this design make me feel?”
In a world of infinite choice, it’s nice to slow down and appreciate the work of master craftsmen.
Don’t use your credit card to buy this. Not yet.
It’s 5:40 AM in Modesto right now. Call us and see why we fell in love with this piece. One shouldn’t ever have to buy jewelry online without asking all your questions first. Oh, that’s right, that’s what makes us different from the thousands of online jewelry sites out there.
When you call you aren’t talking to an agent in a call center. Your talking to either Ron Yates, Ashton Yates-Woolley, Marissa Stewart, Mechelle Yates, or Justice Carillo at our Modesto store location.

Absolutely breathtaking, and fit for a princess. This meticulously hand crafted platinum ring is brand new. The design is based off an original 1915 circa platinum engagement ring. Except, you could be the first owner!
The center diamond is an antique Old Mine Cut diamond that we purchased in an estate. We pulled this diamond from the original ring, as it was damaged beyond repair. We sent the diamond to G.I.A. for grading. It is a VS2 clarity (very clean!), J color (high color grade for large diamonds from this era). The G.I.A. certificate number is laser inscribed on the girdle of the diamond. This diamond was most likely cut between 1900 - 1910.
The ring is crafted of platinum. It's a one of a kind design - not mass produced. There are thirty-six small diamonds that are set into the ring. These are VS1 clarity, F color, and total weight is .65ctw.
You will notice the great workmanship and attention to detail when you look closely. The French milgrain on the edges is hand applied and very fine. (By contrast, most rings that have milgrain edges are "cast" - not done by hand.) Also, before the small diamonds were set, the seats were high polished. This, combined with ideal cut diamonds of high color and clarity, makes these diamonds sparkle like crazy.
The unique way the center diamond is held reminds me of a crown. And the lucky lady that wears this ring will feel like royalty. The ring weighs 6.4 grams. It is exquisite.
