Why Talking Is a Good Idea
Buying jewelry online is intimidating. We should know. We've been selling online for 17 years.
We've taken a totally different approach. A personal one.
Remember how experiences used to be intimate? Jewelry buying should be an intimate experience.
It isn't about having the largest selection, or selling the cheapest (i.e. low quality) jewelry. We’re not aiming to be the Amazon of jewelry. We are a family-owned jewelry store in Modesto (California) that is very picky about quality and design. That's been our calling card since 1989.
Beautiful jewelry should stir the soul. Before selecting a piece for display we ask, “How does this design make me feel?”
In a world of infinite choice, it’s nice to slow down and appreciate the work of master craftsmen.
Don’t use your credit card to buy this. Not yet.
It’s 5:40 AM in Modesto right now. Call us and see why we fell in love with this piece. One shouldn’t ever have to buy jewelry online without asking all your questions first. Oh, that’s right, that’s what makes us different from the thousands of online jewelry sites out there.
When you call you aren’t talking to an agent in a call center. Your talking to either Ron Yates, Ashton Yates-Woolley, Marissa Stewart, Mechelle Yates, or Justice Carillo at our Modesto store location.
Product Details
It's from outer space. Yep, that's right. The beautiful center part of the ring is meteorite from outer space!.
Measuring 7mm wide with a generous inlay of meteorite and wrapped in bright white cobalt. It also has a cerakote sleeve inside that you can pick from a section of colors!
About the meteorite:
This meteorite is Gibeonite - the most sought after for jewelry. It displays a beautiful Widmanstatten pattern and has a bit less iron in its composition, meaning less chance of rusting. Gibeon meteorite was originally was discovered in Namibia, Africa in the mid 1800s. Because it is becoming prized for jewelry uses, it is becoming much scarcer and more expensive. Prices have doubled in the past 5 years on the raw product.
The edges of the ring are cobalt. Cobalt is an element found in the earth that is hypo-allergenic and bright white color. It looks identical to platinum (much prettier than "white gold", which is really kinda yellowish). And does not scratch as easy as white gold or platinum.
Meteorite is made up mainly of iron. Iron, as you know, does rust. So you must take proper care of your ring. Before we ship it to you, the ring has an oil resin that is applied to it, this acts as a water barrier to keep it from rusting.
What to do when your ring gets wet:
If you do get it wet, and I'm sure you will, here is what you should do:
- Completely dry the ring.
- Dip the ring in rubbing alcohol.
- Completely dry it - use a blow dryer.
- Rub the meteorite with some gun oil to reseal it.
- Or just bring it to us and we will take care of it for you.
Each ring is made as ordered - nothing mass produced here. So allow about 3-4 weeks to make your ring.
