Damascus steel has a rich history. It is made with many layers of a soft and a hard stainless steel, folded many times. This is how you see different layers in the metal. Each ring will have a slightly different pattern - no two are alike. Originally, Damascus Steel was made in Damascus, Syria and used for swords.
