Handmade in 14K yellow gold and featuring a natural 5mm star sapphire. The sapphire is a beautiful light shade of purple, seldom seen.
Star sapphires have been coveted for centuries. Why? Because they display a fascinating whiteish ‘star’ in natural daylight. This is caused by a natural phenomenon called asterism. Asterism happens when a sapphire (or another gemstone) contains inclusions of tiny needle-like crystals, typically of the mineral rutile, arranged in a pattern. These rutile inclusions are aligned so that when light hits the stone's surface, it reflects off these inclusions and creates a star-shaped pattern.
The ring is 2mm wide with a unique segmented band. A perfect ring that would look great in a stack. Mix and match with gold bands. It will look terrific!
