The Rolex Day Date, also known as the President. It's the big Kahuna. This 36mm men's version is a highly sought after classic. Suitable for a lady nowadays as larger watches are preferred.

Model 18038, from 1979. But you would guess it's much newer due to the condition. Presents very nicely, especially with the diamond dial and bezel. It's sharp.

The dial is champagne color with round brilliant diamonds and also tapered baguette diamonds. The bezel is bead set with 44 round brilliant diamonds, VS clarity and G color, totaling approximately .88ctw. I am not sure if the bezel is authentic Rolex, or a custom one. However, it is top quality.

The watch has been serviced - new mainspring, gaskets, seals, cleaned, lubricated and regulated. A new crystal was also installed.

We believe the bracelet to be possibly aftermarket. It is stamped Rolex, and with the correct numbers, but the markings appear to be stamped slightly different from what we've seen factory Rolex to be. It tests as 18K gold, and is identical in size and link thickness. It could be that the stamps have some wear on them and it might be the original Rolex bracelet, or it could have been replaced at some point. Unfortunately, the original owner had passed away and we purchased it from his estate.

The bracelet has been tighted up by replacing and welding in a couple of new gold pins on the top links that were stretched. This tightens up the links, which looks better on the wrist. Note: The bracelet is short 1 link. It fits a man's average to smaller sized wrist, such as mine. I typically wear a 8" bracelet. If you typically wear a 8.5" bracelet, you will need an extra link. If you wear a 9" bracelet, you will probably need 1 extra links.

The bracelet and case were then refinished to factory specifications. The watch is in very good condition. You can tell it was a special occasion watch as the condition is better than a typical 40+ year old gold watch.

Unfortunately, the original owner did not save the tags or warranty card. Comes in a genuine Rolex box.
