Seed Pearl Lavalier
Vintage, Circa 1900

TEST:
Delicate and full or romantic beauty. This stunning lavalier style necklace is studded with seed pearls. Crafted (stamped) in 14k yellow gold. This piece was hand fabricated around 1900 - 1910, so it would be considered late Victorian, or early Edwardian period.
We love the wreath of pearls in the center! And the lavalier drop at the bottom just sets it off even more.
The small seed pearls vary in hue from white to grayish color. You will notice a little bit of patina in the nooks and crannies of the gold - we didn't want to remove that. It adds to the history.
The history of this hand made piece has been lost through time. But if it could only talk. It would tell us who made it, where it was made, and what beloved woman it was made for. We do know that each of the individual components had to be fabricated separately, then finished, polished and soldered together. The seed pearls had to be sorted to get just the right diameter to fit in each spot. A time intensive project, for sure.
The chain measures 15", but an extender could be made if you need a longer length.
