Buying jewelry online is intimidating. We should know. We've been selling online for 17 years.
We've taken a totally different approach. A personal one.
Remember how experiences used to be intimate? Jewelry buying should be an intimate experience.
It isn't about having the largest selection, or selling the cheapest (i.e. low quality) jewelry. We’re not aiming to be the Amazon of jewelry. We are a family-owned jewelry store in Modesto (California) that is very picky about quality and design. That's been our calling card since 1989.
Beautiful jewelry should stir the soul. Before selecting a piece for display we ask, “How does this design make me feel?”
In a world of infinite choice, it’s nice to slow down and appreciate the work of master craftsmen.
Don’t use your credit card to buy this. Not yet.
It’s 5:40 AM in Modesto right now. Call us and see why we fell in love with this piece. One shouldn’t ever have to buy jewelry online without asking all your questions first. Oh, that’s right, that’s what makes us different from the thousands of online jewelry sites out there.
When you call you aren’t talking to an agent in a call center. Your talking to either Ron Yates, Ashton Yates-Woolley, Marissa Stewart, Mechelle Yates, or Justice Carillo at our Modesto store location.
A beautiful sapphire ring, one that you won't find again. There's so much to love about this ring: the intricate filigree design, the Royal Blue color and brilliance of the sapphire, the provenance of this hand crafted beauty.
The ring is vintage, we estimate the mounting could have been made from 1920 - 1940. It is crafted in precious platinum. You'll feel the heft of the metal as platinum is much more dense than white gold is. Take a look at the side profile - do you see the intricate filigree detail? It's almost like a lace design, but in platinum.
We like how the filigree runs veritical; you don't see that as much. It helps create the raised "crown" on top. Stunning!
The sapphire has been replaced at some point. The reason we know this is that sapphires, although the hardest of all colored gems, will typically have small abrasions on the top of the stone after 80+ years of wear. This one is perfect. And it is cut to ideal standards. A sapphire cut in 1920 - 1940 era would look a bit different, not as brilliant.
This sapphire is a very high quality, natural mined, weighing 1.32ct. It has a beautiful Royal Blue color and high clarity, measuring 6.48 x 5.23mm.
Surrounding the sapphire in a halo are eight bright round brilliant diamonds, each measuring 1.95 - 2.0mm each. There are also two high quality baguette cut diamonds. Estimated at .38ctw of nice bright diamonds. The diamonds are VS clarity and G-H in color.
The ring is circa 1940. If the ring was made earlier, the diamonds would have been Old European cut instead of brilliant cut. Beginning in the 1940s, diamond cutters began phasing out the Old Euros, in favor of the new brilliant cut. This "new" cut was developed to allow the diamond to produce more brilliance, or light return.
The ring is in excellent condition, especially factoring in its 80 years of existence. Makes an excellent addition to your vintage collection.
