Super cool!  Lots to love about this 1940s vintage Tigers Eye intaglio ring.  Let's start with the Tigers Eye.  It is carved with the profile of an ancient Roman Soldier.  Look close, do you see his helmet?  There is another man behind him that you can also see.  I wonder what the story on this depiction is?  Fascinating!  The Tigers Eye is large - 19 x 14mm.

The ring is crafted in 10K white gold.  I love the design of this ring.  Notice on either side of the Tigers Eye the ring's shoulders step down.  Nice example of geometric influence on design during this time period.

Take a look at the sides. Do you see the Rose Gold Battle Axe on either side?  This goes along with the Roman Soldier carved in the gemstone.  These rose gold emblems were welded onto the ring after the ring was made - very labor intensive, not a cheap ring to make!

In the recessed field below the battle axe, the metal has a stipple finish and is black "antiqued".  This helps the rose gold axe to really pop!

Below the battle ax, there is a stylized "V" carved into the ring.  (Maybe meaning "Victory"?)  On one side this is mostly worn away.  But very visible on the other side.

If you love this ring, you should snag it.  You won't find another one like this.  We've had plenty of Tigers Eye intaglio rings over the years - but never one with rose gold battle axes!
